Exciting News: Rangatahi-Led Fund Opening Soon!

We're thrilled to announce that the Rangatahi-Led Fund is nearly ready to launch across Otago! This innovative funding initiative empowers young people to make decisions about projects that matter to them and their communities.

What is the Rangatahi-Led Fund?

The Rangatahi-Led Fund is an Otago Community Trust initiative supporting youth-led projects throughout the Otago region. What makes this fund truly special is that it puts decision-making power directly in the hands of rangatahi (young people), with four regional groups established to lead the fund in their respective areas:

  • North Otago

  • South Otago

  • Ōtepoti/Dunedin

  • Central Otago

Applications open April 2nd - close April 30th

Available Funding

A total of $100,000 has been allocated to this exciting initiative, with each regional group having access to $25,000 to distribute to rangatahi-led projects in their area. Individual projects can apply for up to $5,000 in funding.

What Can Be Funded?

The fund is designed to be flexible and responsive to the needs of youth-led initiatives. Eligible expenses include:

  • Kai for events and activities

  • Venue and equipment hire

  • Marketing and promotion

  • Equipment purchases & supplies

  • Instructor fees

Applications open on Wednesday 2nd April and close on Wednesday 30th April.
