The Trusts Act 2019: Implications for trustees of charitable trusts and NFPs

Institute of Directors —

As many New Zealanders are involved with charitable trusts in some way as trustees, beneficiaries of family trusts or volunteers it is important to be aware of the effects of the new Act.

The Trusts Act 2019 will replace the Trustee Act 1956 and applies to all existing and future trusts in New Zealand.

The Otago Southland Branch of the Institute of Directors are running an informative presentation of the Trusts Act changes. This session is designed for trustees of charitable trusts and not-for-profits.

Professor Jessica Palmer and Stephanie Pettigrew will outline compliance requirements, trustee obligations and issues for trustees to be aware of to prepare for the changes.
