New Fund - Embrace: Increasing the wellbeing of trans, takatāpui and intersex young people

The Tindall Foundation —

The Tindall Foundation is excited to announce new ‘EMBRACE’ funding stream.

The Tindall Foundation aspire to see an Aotearoa where trans, takatāpui and intersex youth no longer experience discrimination and stigma within health, education, employment, state care, housing, community and in households across our country. Instead, they should be embraced by us all, included, acknowledged and treated equally.

Over the past three years The Tindall Foundation have engaged in hui, research, conversations; listening to and gathering feedback from the Rainbow Sector. Out of this consultation they have developed a strategy to help ensure that trans, takatāpui and intersex young people are visible, safe, supported, respected, celebrated and loved.

The Tindall Foundation will continue to consult with the trans, takatāpui and intersex community to ensure they make the best decisions about their funding and will work alongside other funders and government where necessary to support community-led goals.

From the standpoint of Otago Community Trust it is so exciting to see Embrace being launched and philanthropy in New Zealand working to support positive change for trans, takatāpui and intersex young people across Aotearoa.

The Tindall Foundation have asked that we please spread the word of how organisations can apply to Embrace. An information sheet on how Embrace works is attached below.
