Our Grantees - Cosy Homes Trust

Melanie McAtamney —

Did you know Otago Community Trust has been a long term funding partner to the Warmer Kiwi Homes programme in Otago?

Working with Cosy Homes Trust, the region’s “one-stop shop” for warm and healthy homes information, resources and referrals, thousands of houses in Dunedin and across Otago have been insulated to date.

Since 2013, the Otago Community Trust has worked with the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) and more recently with Cosy Homes Trust to help fund free insulation into qualifying households.

To date our investment into Warm Homes for Otago is nearly $4 million. The project has attracted over $10 million into the Otago region from all funders involved in the Otago Community Trust Warm Home programmes.

The Cosy Homes Trust website / facebook page provides a good overview of the resources, plus the insulation and heating subsidy programmes available for lower-income home owners or home owners who live in the Government classified "warm up zones".

Click across to the Cosy Homes website via the link below to learn more about the programmes and schemes at a regional level. Jeremy Baker, Project Manager at Cosy Homes, is a fount of knowledge and always happy to help.

EECA also have a Warmer Kiwi Homes Eligibility Tool on their website which is a great place to start if you wish to find out if you are eligible for a grant for a heater and/or home insulation, and to connect with a service provider for a no-obligation quote.
