The Kia Whiti Tonu Programme

The recently released national COVID-19 impact survey of tangata whenua, community and voluntary organisations identified a strong commitment across the sector to respond, recover, and then reshape for the future. 

To assist organisations to build their capability to meet current challenges and take advantage of post-Covid opportunities, Foundation North with the Centre for Social Impact (CSI) will offer a series of online capacity and capability workshops designed and curated based on the survey responses and the identified ongoing need in the sector.

An initial offering of five 90 minute workshops from mid November will cover grant writing, marketing and communications, innovation, strategy, and wellbeing. 

The sessions will offer practical learning with supplied ‘take home’ resources/toolkits.

The Kia Whiti Tonu programme of workshops has been designed to meet those capacity and capability development needs. CSI has harnessed the individual skills and experience of our network of associates to deliver Kia Whiti Tonu.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS - Creating content that counts in a changing world

This webinar is a refresher on communicating your purpose and impact to current and potential supporters. Focusing on the importance of doing digital right and creating compelling content, you will be taught what donors, funders and the media care about and how to get their attention and support. WELLBEING - The Ora of Self

Date & Time: Tuesday 24 November @ 10am – 11.30am

This interactive wellbeing workshop will focus on your self-awareness and self-care. Leaning into a Reflective Practise, we will speak to and share our pūmanawa (natural gifted talents, magic, superpowers), pūkenga (our skills, expertise) and learnings. Also, how we ‘live’, nourish, practise and apply these to our roles, mahi, whanau and the communities in which we serve. Places limited to 50 maximum. Register here

INNOVATION - Innovating a New World

This session is introductory and will explore what type of innovation we need in our world today so we don’t get more of the same and we take a leap into living an interconnected future where all can thrive. STRATEGY - Strategy in a fast-changing world, learning from COVID

Date & Time: Monday 30 November @ 10am – 11.30am

Presenters: Kat Dawnier and Rachael Trotman

The session will look at the strategic issues and implications that have come up for the community sector through COVID-19, and how NGOs have used this disruptive moment to rethink and revitalise their work. By sharing evidence, case studies and learning from the sector, participants will be supported to consider how and where they might need to respond to our changing post-COVID landscape and how to build their strategic thinking capacity. GRANT WRITING - Kick A** Content – Developing Winning Proposals

This webinar will walk you through the proposal development process and methods of strengthening your funding submissions to secure more resources. Participants will also be introduced to collaborative writing resources and be given access to resources for proposal content development. Register here
