Otago Community Trust — August 29, 2021
Below is a quick summary of our recent grant approvals for July & August 2021.
July Grants Summary:
Otago Community Trust gave a total of $278,069 to 21 community organisations in July 2021.
Te Whare Puāwai o Tokomairaro received a $36,000 grant which will assist in establishing a community facility for whānau in Milton, to be a central point for events, wānanga, and other kaupapa Māori activities.
A $28,000 grant was also awarded to Te Roopu Tautoko Ki Te Tonga Inc to support the extension of their Mahi Mau Rākau programme.
A small number of community grants were also approved in the July meeting. The Owaka Swap Shop, Spring Chamber Music, Dunedin Jazz Cabaret & Performing Arts Trust and Kiwi Family Trust were some of the community groups supported in July.

August Grants Summry
The Roxburgh Swimming Pool received a $500,000 grant in the August, to support the much-needed new community swimming pool at Roxburgh.
The August funding round also saw the Orokonui Ecosanctuary receive support for its fence mitigation and protection project.
Several grants supporting community-based events were also awarded in August, including a $36,000 grant to Te Mana Ahua Ake Charitable Trust to assist with the "Otago Polyfest" festival.
