In June, we had the pleasure of attending the opening of the Catlins Area School brand new multi-purpose courts and Matariki celebrations.
June marked a significant milestone for the Catlins Area School with the grand opening of their brand new multi-purpose courts. For years, the school has wanted a space that could accommodate various sports and activities, providing students with enhanced opportunities for physical education and extracurricular engagement.
The event - coinciding with Matariki celebrations - brought together students, staff, and community members in a day filled with excitement.
What better way to open the new courts than with a bit of friendly competition? With the official ribbon cut, the first game on the courts was a spirited netball match pitting the staff against the students. In a display of skill, teamwork, and good-natured rivalry, the students emerged victorious, setting a high bar for future competitions.
We're looking forward to following the score in the many matches to come.
Ngā mihi nui ki a koe Catlins Area School!
