Library Search | Ketu
This is the Library search system. As well as being a catalogue for all the items on the library selves, it is also connects to most of the Library's online collections (e.g. research databases, e-journals, ebooks, newspapers etc).

Library websites for each campus:

It's recommended that you use the Library homepage for the University of Otago campus you are studying from. This way you will access the approriate contact deatils:

Subject Guides

The online Subject Guides and Topic Guides act as gateways to relevant, mostly online, collections and tutorials. These guides are maintained by a Subject Librarian and their contact details are included on the guide. You are welcome to contact them if you any questions about research, using the featured resources or the Library in general.

Databases

Databases are large collections of online publications that University subscribes to annually. Use the databases to search hundreds of research publication at the same time (e.g. academic journals, magazines, newspapers, e-books, conference papers and more).

Each database holds a different collection of resources, which is why the University of Otago subscribes to so many of them. In many cases, these databases provide academic research and information that you would need to pay to access otherwise, so make the most of them.

Each of the campus Library sites (above) provide links to the databases on offer.

Interloans (accessing items not held in the Library collections)

If the Library doesn't hold the item you require, it is possible to place an online interloan request for the item.

  • In most cases, interloan requests are supplied at no charge (i.e. copy requests and books within supplied within from Libraries NZ and Australia).

  • Books supplied by interloan are couriered to you just like standard Library books.

  • Renewing books that have been supplied by interloan is different to standard books.
