The postgraduate journey is intensively self-directed. This workshop discusses the concept of self-directed learning and the different strategies that postgraduates students can use to manage their learning, research, and professional development throughout this journey, as well as online tools to facilitate the process.

Managing your online learning with self-directed learning strategies

Online learning is becoming part and parcel of university learning, whether in the form of flipped learning or pre-class online assignments. With the availability of lecture captures, students are also given more flexibility in terms of when, where, and how they want to learn and revise lecture material. This workshop discusses the concept of self-directed learning and the different strategies that students can use to manage and use the flexibility of online learning in ways that are beneficial for their learning and performance.
