Interested in becoming a Distance Learning mentor or a mentee?

Distance Learning —

A peer advice and support programme will commence this year, and it starts very soon. Become one of the Distance Education PALS!

One of the best ways to learn about distance education (and that includes both the administration and teaching sides of things) is by learning from each other.

This year we are trialling a peer networking programme to facilitate an opportunity for you to connect with a variety of distance learning colleagues across the University.

This voluntary programme will be a way for colleagues to team up to talk about and share distance education ideas and practices across the next 12 months. We are calling this programme the Peer Advice, Learning and Support network or the “PALS” for short.

We are now seeking people who are prepared to act as a mentor about distance learning for one or two other staff members. We are also looking for people who would like to be mentees.

We have already sent an email invitation to the Distance Learning Database asking for expressions of interest in the PALS programme. If you haven't received that email please let us know. We will send you a copy of the email which outlines how the programme works. We can also make sure that you are on our database so you don't miss out on future events.

You can contact us at distance.learning@otago.ac.nz.
