Learning & Development is running a series of seminars all about making use of OneDrive, Teams, Office 365 & Echo360 for teaching and other activities!

As experienced distance educators, you will always be on the look-out for new ways of working with your students, designing your learning activities and making your courses interactive and engaging.

Over the next couple of weeks Learning and Development is offering a series of seminars to help clarify some of the options that were made available to us just before lockdown.

Each seminar is being offered twice, to give you a chance to attend at a time that suits. The seminars are also being recorded, with the intention that the best recording for each will be available as a resource to those of you who could not attend but were interested.

Where should I put my stuff (session via Zoom)

The University has a number of different systems for storing and sharing files, such as Shared Drives, HCS, OurDrive, Blackboard, Echo 360, Teams, and OneDrive. This seminar talks through the options around different places for storing files, and what it takes to share things with other people from those places.

Office 365: OneDrive, Teams, and other new things (session via Zoom)

University Staff gained access to Office 365 as we went into lockdown in late March. this seminar is a discussion around how the different parts work and what you can do with them.

Echo 360: Distributing Video (session via Zoom)

This seminar provides information on using Echo 360 (the University's system for sharing video). It will cover getting setup with Echo 360, using it for lecture recordings, adding your own recordings, using it with Blackboard to share video with students, sharing recordings in other ways, and making simple edits in recordings.

Teams in Office 365: collaborating with others (session via Zoom)

As a part of Office 365, the option of using Teams to work together is new to many. This seminar steps through the specific options around using Teams to carry out a collaborative project involving staff, students, and people from outside the university.
