Who Supports the Distance Education at the University?
Distance Learning Advisory Board (DLAB)
The Distance Learning Advisory Board provides strategic advice to the University on its distance learning activities.
Board membership is composed of representatives from each Division and various service units such as ITS, the Library, and Student Experience.
Talking with your Divisional representative on the Board will let you see your course in a wider context. Board membership, terms of reference, and meeting dates are on the University website here.
Director, Distance Learning
The Director, Distance Learning is Dr Sarah Stein. Her role is to provide:
- strategic direction for Distance Education within the University;
- leadership and management of Distance Education; and
- facilitation and communication about Distance Education issues.
While Sarah is based on the Dunedin campus, she also visits the Christchurch and Wellington campuses regularly, although these visits have been curtailed during 2020 and will probably continue to be limited during 2021. Sarah is always pleased to meet with distance teaching and administration staff in these locations or elsewhere. And a Zoom meeting is always an option!
