Key Dates 2019

It's important to be aware of the key dates for the University of Otago.

January

  • 3 -  University reopens
  • 7 - Summer School classes begin
  • 7 Due date for completion of course enrolment declaration concerning Summer School papers (a late fee may apply)
  • 10 - Final Examination Only applications due for Summer School papers
  • 11 - Summer School fees due
  • 14 - Last day to add or delete Summer School papers (5pm deadline)
  • 15 - Due date for submission of papers for course approval by students taking first semester or full year papers

February

  • 4 - Last day to withdraw from Summer School papers (5pm deadline)
  • 6 - Waitangi Day (public holiday)
  • 10 - Fees due for most programmes beginning in the first semester. Check your invoice in eVision for specific date
  • 15 - Summer School lectures cease
  • 16 - Summer School examination period begins
  • 21 - Summer School examination period ends
  • 22 - Due date for completion of course enrolment declaration by students taking first semester and full year papers (after which late fee may apply)
  • 25 - Formal lectures begin

March

April

  • 19 - Mid-semester break begins/Good Friday (public holiday)
  • 22 - Easter Monday (public holiday)
  • 23 - Otago Anniversary Day observance (University holiday)
  • 25 - ANZAC Day (public holiday)
  • 29 - First semester resumes

May

June

  • 3 - Queen's Birthday (public holiday)
  • 5 - First semester examination period begins
  • 15 - Applications due from students taking only second semester papers for a programme subject to the Entry Pathway system in 2019
  • 19 - First semester examination period ends
  • 25 - Due date for submission of papers for course approval by students taking only second semester papers

July

  • 8 - Second semester lectures begin
  • 8 - Due date for completion of course enrolment declaration by students taking only second semester papers (after which late fee may apply)
  • 10 - Fees due for most second semester only enrolments. Check your invoice in eVision for specific date
  • 12 - Last day to add second semester papers (5pm deadline)
  • 26 - Last day to delete second semester papers with refund of fees (5pm deadline)
  • 31 - Final Examination Only applications due for second semester papers

August

  • 17 - Graduation ceremony
  • 24 - Mid-semester break begins

September

October

  • 11 - Second semester lectures cease
  • 16 - Second semester examination period begins
  • 28 - Labour Day (public holiday)

November

  • 9 - Second semester examination period ends

December

  • 7 - Graduation ceremonies
  • 11 - Graduation ceremonies
  • 14 - Graduation ceremonies
