Kia Ora Otahuhu School,

Thank you for your continued support during the disruption of the last few weeks with Cyclone Gabrielle and the floods. I am absolutely grateful our community came out of it relatively safely. Watching other parts of New Zealand on the news and seeing the impact it has had in other areas is quite devastating. It has certainly been a challenging start to the year but I feel we have had some normality over the last 2 weeks. We have successfully settled back into our learning programmes. Thank you whanau for all your support during this time and your commitment to bringing your children to school everyday. Last week our attendance was 89% - a brilliant effort by everyone at school. I’m hoping we reach 90% over the next few weeks.

We are fully involved in our cultural practices. On March 30th we will showcase to our community the performances. This will be held at 6pm and we are hoping to have full attendance from our whanau. These practices occur Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 1.20pm.

Nga mihi nui

Jenny Bernard
