Positive Behaviour 4 Learning (PB4L)

What We Are Hoping To Achieve

PB4L school wide takes at least 5 years to put into place. Over this time, schools should see:

• Students with a greater collaborative action towards each other.
  
• The behaviour of students improve.
  
• Students engaged and achieving.
  
  

PB4L School Wide take the approach that opportunities for learning and achievement increase if:

• The school environment is positive and supportive.
  
• Expectations are consistently clear.
  
• Students are taught desired behaviours.
  
• Students are consistently acknowledged for desired behaviours and undesirable behaviours are responded to in a fair and equitable way.
  
  

Our Next Steps In PB4L

The Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) framework focuses on building and maintaining positive respectful relationships across the school community and offers school staff best-practice tools and techniques to restore relationships when things go wrong.

By building positive, respectful relationships within a school, staff to staff, staff to student and student to student, issues are more easily managed.

How You Can help at Home

• Talk to your children about ways to resolve conflict.
  
• Ask children about a problem they may have had at school or at home and ask what they might have done differently.
  
• Praise children constantly when they are using H.E.A.R.T.
