Otahuhu Primary 160th Jubilee

Otahuhu Primary SchoolMarch 7, 2018

A little under 160 years ago Otahuhu Primary School opened its doors to the small community of Otahuhu.

The school was to provide an education for the children of the Royal New Zealand Fencibles and their families that had been posted in the village some ten years before.

Today, as our motto states, the school is truly a “meeting place for the children of the world”; boasting nearly 500 students from 18 ethnicities. Our staff has also come together from all corners of the globe to teach and learn from the children in their classes.

Our 160th Jubilee events will be on Thursday 9th August and Saturday 11th August. Our team is developing their ideas for a series of fantastic events to celebrate this achievement. Over the coming months we will be sharing more information about our school and its history. We will also be updating the community about how they can join us in our festivities.

To sign up for updates, please go onto the school website (http://otahuhuprimary.school.nz) and click where it says Sign Up to receive updates and the latest news. Enter your email address for 160th Jubilee updates and you will be sent information on the school jubilee when it is published on our website.
