Any excuse for a road trip - I've always felt that way. Now I can bring along the family, lock them in the car and they have to keep me company - Despite them falling asleep mid journey.

Otematata had a rain day and being stuck in the caravan for a day playing with iPads seemed to break from the "getting back to nature" ethos we had planned for our holiday.

So, jump in the car kids we are going on a Road Trip!

I had to drive the hour but the kids took advantage of time travel and woke up in sunny Wanaka. Ran the Maze, Puzzled over the Puzzles and had a great cafe meal. 

One last trip up the Matukituki Valley to test the 4WD capabilities of the Soccer-Mom car and then it was home again.

Not a bad day, I would say. Much better than being stuck in the Caravan.
