All teachers will attend two days of professional development before schools start for children on 31 January and 1 February 2024.

The Ministry of Education has allowed for schools to have two curriculum focused Teacher Only Days during the year again in 2024. We appreciate that these are not easy for working parents to have children at home on a work day, but it is essential we have time for all teachers to work together on changes to the New Zealand Curriculum. 

The first Teacher Only Day is Thursday 28 March, which is the day before Good Friday, so hopefully some families may be able to go away for an extra long Easter holiday. On this day, all schools in our Kāhui Ako will be closed for teacher professional development, so if you have children at Northcross or Long Bay College they will be closed on that day as well.

The second Teacher Only Day is Tuesday 29th October, which is the day after Labour Day.
