That's a Wrap!
Term 1 is just about over and we have been very busy.
It is hard to believe we are almost at the end of Term 1. We have been able to achieve a lot and I have enjoyed walking around classes throughout the term and seeing what they are working on, and how the children and teachers have settled into 2024.
Here are some of the things that we did in Term 1:
- Meet the Teacher-Teachers invited you into their room to meet them and find out what kinds of things your child will be doing this year
- Class and Individual Photos
- Lunchtime Clubs were very popular
- Mihi Whakatau to welcome new children and their families
- Kāhui Ako Student Leaders attended their first meeting with leaders from other schools
- House Leaders attended a Student Leader Conference
- Family Picnic
- A Photographer spent two days taking photos for our new website
- Yr 5s- Cycle Safety
- Yr 5&6s went surfing at Orewa Beach
- Yr 2s learned about our local streams and went on a walk to see what they could find as part of the Whitebait Connection Programme
- Yr 1s have a Teddy Bears' Picnic planned for week 10
All classes focused on 'Our Place' in Term 1 to celebrate the fact OVS has been open for 20 years. Children and teachers learnt new things about our school, our local community and families and whanau in our community.
