Principals Welcome
Te Kupu a te Tumuaki / Principal’s Welcome
Kia ora koutou, bula vinaka, and a warm welcome to Ōtorohanga Primary School.
We invite you and your children to join us to work together to provide a positive and productive learning experience.
Our school is a special place where students can walk in two worlds, with pathways in both The New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa. We are deeply proud of our strong connection to Ngāti Maniapoto and the rich history of our area.
Most importantly, we have awesome tamariki here. We are an inclusive community that celebrates learners from all backgrounds and abilities. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive learning environment where your child is supported to reach their full potential.
About Me
I have been the Principal at Ōtorohanga Primary School since 2004 and I absolutely love our kura.
I grew up and completed all my schooling in Piopio before attending Waikato University, where I completed my Diploma of Teaching (Primary) and Bachelor of Education. My husband Tony and I have two adult sons, Tiberius and Justus, who also attended Ōtorohanga Primary School—so this school is very much a part of my own whānau.
We believe that a strong partnership between the school and families is essential. My door is always open, and I look forward to meeting you.
Ngā mihi nui,
Catriona Chrystall Tumuaki / Principal
