Travel Safe Leaders Day 2023
We recently had a group of students head out to the Tauranga Council building to take part in the Travel Safe Leaders Workshop.
Mrs Smith (Kathy) transported four students (Takara Smith, Daniella Pugh, Tom Parks, and William Cummings) in the morning to the workshop in town where they discussed travel issues in their schools with others from different Intermediates.
At the workshop the travel safe students participated in many activities such as finding the issues in rural and town environments, designing sustainable roads for buses and cars, what we can do to help, why we should help, and how we can help, as well as our school area too.
There was also a Kahoot about road safety which the students won, and 20 second advertisements about a certain safety accessory, in their case, a helmet. The students identified one problem with travel at their school, then discussed what they could do to explain, advertise, and report it back to the school.
We thank Mrs Smith for helping out with this day as it couldn't have been done without her help.
