Ruma Whitu had a blast while at camp.

Ngatuhoa Lodge had fun, but challenging activities for us. Room 7 had to be brave, as facing fears and trying new things was in store every single day.

The activities that were loved the most were the obstacle course, the flying fox, the jumping hole, as well as the Burma trail.

The jumping hole is a ledge that is 5-10 metres high, and you jump into a pool of water. At the jumping hole activity you can also go to the swimming hole.

Everyone loved the flying fox. A giant rope about half a kilometre that you go zipping down at a magnificent speed. This gave everyone a blast of energy.

The obstacle course is an activity that makes you go through several different obstacles to reach the end where there is a “crocodile pit”; you have to grab a rope and swing across a pool of water and try not to fall in.

Room 7 had so much fun when we did the burma trail. At 9:00pm we all went out in the forest to walk the track. We followed a long rope in the pitch black around, through, and over trees. But there was a twist, the parents gave us frights and scared us in the dark which led to a lot of screaming.

The time Ruma Whitu had at camp was an experience we had never had before. There were waterfalls, forest life, and an abnormal amount of trees. The walk to Ngatuhoa Falls at the start of camp led to great sights and places. We walked through the forest, but towards the end it was so slippery and steep only ¾ of the class kept walking to the falls. What a sight to see! A giant waterfall and a beautiful river surrounded with wildlife.

While it was raining at camp, a lot of the class went to the recreation hall to have some fun and to play games. While they were there, a big game of truth or dare was in motion. Funny experiences led from howling like a wolf for a minute, to slow dancing with the person to your right. The rec hall was certainly a place to be at when games were going on.

Overall, camp was awesome and all of Room 7 had a great time. We will remember every experience we had and will never forget Ngatuhoa lodge.
