Principal's Message

Otumoetai Intermediate Communications —

Dear parents, caregivers, students and friends of the school. Tena koutou katoa. Ngā mihi nui kia koutou katoa

As this is our last newsletter for Term 1, we would like to thank all parents and caregivers for their wonderful support of the school. Our winter sports teams are being organised with basketball, netball and hockey ready to commence their 2023 season. We are really excited to see many of our students participating in sports teams next term. The summer sports are coming to an end with our volleyball, kiwi tag and water polo teams completing their season. A big thank you to all our coaches, managers, parent helpers and supporters of these teams.

The 2023 ZESPRI AIMS GAMES are now in sight and trials will get underway next term to select our school representatives for this national tournament in September.

In this newsletter you will find the school’s Inclusive Education Policy which will be reinforced at school assemblies on a regular basis next term. The goal is for every student to feel accepted, valued and safe in our school while being challenged to be the very best they can be.

Our students come from a diverse range of backgrounds and previous experiences and this term has focussed on developing our school culture.

Our unrelenting aim is to develop students who are confident in the following ways:

  • They are motivated and reliable.
  • They are resourceful.
  • They are positive in their own identity and accepting of others.
  • They are resilient.
  • They strive for excellence.
  • They are able to be independent and manage themselves.
  • They are able to demonstrate respect and care for each other and other people’s property.
  • They are able to relate to others.

Ngā Mihi Nui
