Rutherford Science Marine Biology – Year 7

Otumoetai Intermediate Communications —

It has been an amazing semester so far and the marine specimens keep coming!

Fangs, Slime Heads that are known to reach 250 years old, deep sea crabs found at 1000 metres, the stealth hunter John Dory with its magnificent tubular mouth, eye spot and binocular vision.

The Porcupine fish with its modified prickly scales and another member of its family, the Leather Jacket, with its very cool dorsal spine and small teeth to graze on algae.

Fantastic fishy Fridays. Next exciting experience will be fish dissections for everyone to have a go at, followed by a few slithery critters!

The Year 7 class has been incredible, wonderful fun students to work with each week.
