Super 11 Surfing Competition
Last term, two teams of four Ōtūmoetai students competed in the Super 11 Surfing Competition at Tay Street, Mt. Maunganui.
This was a tag-team style event in which each surfer had approximately seven minutes to catch two high scoring waves before running up the beach to tag the next surfer. Each surfer surfed in two heats, which were then followed by the final round. Our teams showed a huge amount of effort and positivity in difficult conditions, and a great day was had by all. We placed 8th and 9th overall, with Mount Maunganui Intermediate ultimately winning the competition.
