Mid-Year Parent-Teacher Conferences

When: Thursday 29th June 2023
Time: 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

On Thursday 29th June 2023, Parent-Teacher conferences will run throughout the whole day and will be of 15-minute duration. This is to allow parents to have quality discussions with the teacher around their child’s learning and progress at school. We ask all parents to keep their child at home for the day except to accompany you to school for your meeting with the teacher. The school will be open to supervise any students who do not have alternative care arrangements.

Interviews will be booked through www.parentinterviews.co.nz. Students will be given information prior with detailed instructions on how to book interview times. This will include a unique booking code.

School Cross Country

Our school cross-country will be held on Friday 19th May 2023. We welcome all parents and whānau to this and further information will follow.

Sports Fees

Invoices have been sent out for sports fees last term. There have been reminders posted on School-Links that these fees are due and expected to be paid before the start of the season. You can either pay these fees directly at the office or online into the following account number:

  • 12-3407-0029060-00 (using your child’s name and the sport they play as the reference).

If you have paid your fees in the last few days, thank you. If you are not in a position to pay these fees, then please ring Leigh Gallagher in the Sports Office. If for some reason your child is no longer playing sport, please let Leigh know.

If you have any queries, please contact Leigh on 576 5105 or by email on sports@otuinter.school.nz.

Wet Weather After School Arrangements

Please discuss with your child your plan for after school pick up if it is raining as the office phone is for emergency use only. We have many students who are requesting to use the office phone as they don’t know their after-school arrangements on wet days. Traffic is very busy on wet days and a good pick up point is at Carlton Reserve as there is plenty of car parking spaces available and students can walk to Carlton Reserve from behind Rooms 21 to 26.

Bus Information

Bayhopper Buses
From Monday 1st May 2023 Tauranga urban Bayhopper buses will be operating an interim timetable, with nine routes across the network returning to weekday schedules (currently operating a reduced or weekend timetable): Route CT, 2B/2W, 5, 40, 51, 55, 60 and 71.

While a total of 15 bus services across the network will operate at full timetables, four routes remain on weekend services: Route 1, 62 and 72A/72B (note Route 1 will have additional trips at peak times).

We encourage parents/caregivers to please check before travel by using the Journey Planner at www.baybus.co.nz, downloading Transit App or calling 0800 4 BAY BUS.

Note: there are no changes to dedicated school buses provided by the Bay of Plenty Regional Council and these timetables remain the same.

Please get in touch if you have any queries, via email at transport@boprc.govt.nz or call 0800 4 BAY BUS.

Rural Buses
Thank you for your patience over the last year as we implemented a centralised bus pass purchasing system. There have been a number of glitches to resolve along the way, but we are confident that we can move to the next implementation stage.

You can buy a term bus pass any time from week 8 of the previous school term and Term 2 rural bus passes should now be paid. Bus passes will be delivered to school on the first and second Friday of each term. From the beginning of week 3 each term, bus drivers will be asking students to present their pass. For this term, it will commence in week 4.
