We have six teaching teams and these teams are named after prominent New Zealanders from the past.

You are invited to a parent information evening about all things at our school followed by a PTA Meeting.

At Ōtūmoetai Intermediate, there are a range of Te Ao Māori programmes that students can be involved in. These programmes support the learning of Te Reo Māori, tikanga, history, and viewing local and world issues through a Māori lens.

2010 saw the introduction of a new national curriculum in all schools. A major change has been the requirement for schools to implement Key Competencies for living and lifelong learning in the 21st Century.

At Ōtūmoetai Intermediate School we encourage our students to be active during their morning tea and lunch breaks.

Over the 6th – 8th January 2023, Liam Clifford competed in the South Island BMX Champs held in Dunedin. He raced in both Cruiser (24” BMX wheel Size) and finished 1st in his age group. In his main Category (12 Year Old Boys), he finished 4th in the final. Liam showed some amazing skills, determination and fitness as he was the only rider in the 12 Boys to “Double Class” which meant an extra 7 race laps over the 2 days.
