Sports Notices

OIS Cross County 2023

The school Cross Country will be held on Friday 19th May 2023.  Parents/whanau are welcome to come along and watch.

Note:

  • Students are given the option to participate in the competitive (3.3km) race or non-competitive (2.3km) race.
  • House points are given to all participants and extra points are given for placing in the Top 20.
  • Shoes are optional but encouraged due to the pavement and gravel-like surfaces students will encounter.
  • If your student suffers from Asthma or any other medical condition that could impact them during this event, please make sure that their teacher is aware and your student is prepared with any necessary medication.
  • Students can come to school in house colours. They must look blue-green-gold or be in their P.E. gear.
  • First race starts at 9:05 am with 7 minutes splits between groups.

Race Times:

  • Race 1 @ 9:05am - Competitive Year 8 Boys
  • Race 2 @ 9:12am - Competitive Year 8 Girls
  • Race 3 @ 9:19am - Competitive Year 7 Boys
  • Race 4 @ 9:26am - Competitive Year 7 Girls
  • Race 5 @ 9:40am - Non Competitive Year 8 Boys
  • Race 6 @ 9:44am - Non Competitive Year 7 Boys
  • Race 7 @ 9:48am - Non Competitive Year 7 Girls
  • Race 8 @ 9:52am - Non Competitive Year 8 Girls

**Competitive races start on the school field.
* Non-competitive races start from Carlton Reserve.


Tai Mitchell

Calling all Year 6, Year 7 and Year 8 boys 53 kg and under to a second trial on Wednesday 10th May 2023 at 5:30 pm at Tauranga Domain. All are welcome even if you did not attend the first trial.

Golf NZ

There are two Whānau Golf Fun Day’s coming up at the end of May and start of June:

  • Kawerau Whānau Golf Fun Day | Sunday 28th May, 2:00 pm | $20 per whanau
  • Lake View Whānau Golf Fun Day | Sunday 4th June, 9:30am | $20 per whanau

Teams can be made up of a mix of mum, dad, siblings, or grandparents (any ages). Play a number of shortened holes as a team and enjoy a fun whanau day out by giving golf a go!
