First up was 13 year old Daniel Mason racing in the downhill event on the extremely challenging Taniwha NZDH trail. Daniel from room 24 rode in the under 15 men’s category up against several top ranking teenagers from across New Zealand and Australia. Many of these riders have competed on the international circuit. The course has many difficult features including an 10 metre gap jump. He came away with a 21st placing competing at his first Crankworx event with around 40 other riders.

Josh Radley (12 years old from room 22) competed in the hugely popular and competitive Kidsworx events. He rode the skyline trail ‘Hucks & Hooves” to finish in 6th place only seconds off the pace. His second event was on Saturday at the Dual Slalom, where two people race side by side on a purpose built dirt track with tight corners, jumps and switchbacks on a slippery surface. Josh once again rode well making it into the qualifying rounds to grab another 6th placing overall.

These events aren’t for the faint hearted!! Great riding boys.
