From the Board of Trustees
The budget was the main theme of the board meeting last night. The board has agreed to fund a small shortfall to allow additional teacher aide time. It is a constant frustration around the meeting table that the level of care we would like to provide is not funded completely by the Ministry. We are grateful for any fundraising or donations that come from our community to support us.
We received detailed updates on both the maths and literacy programmes that make up some of our key goals and are pleased with the progress and positive outcomes in both areas. It is clear to see the teaching team has put in a lot of effort in rolling these out and adopting them.
As we approach the end of the school year, I would like to wish all the best to those coming to the end of their time at Outram School, I hope you leave with fond memories and will not be a stranger.
Thank you so much to my fellow board members for their valuable contributions over the year. Outram School is very fortunate to have a board that works so well together and has such a keen interest in the success of the school.
I would also like to acknowledge the fabulous effort of Miss Allan, our teachers, and staff throughout the year, we are privileged to have a team that cares so much about our tamariki.
Wishing everyone a very happy holidays and looking forward to seeing many of you in the new year.
