Room 6 News
There has been plenty of learning and fun activities this term. We have also had lots of illness and bugs to deal with and Mr Mitchell hopes to see everyone healthy and back at school soon.
Over the last couple of weeks we have all prepared, practiced and given our speeches. The theme was 'To Entertain' and we did exactly that! We had chuckles, giggles, snorts and belly laughs!
We had a wide variety of topics and some great original content that the audience enjoyed.
With illness hitting Room 6 hard we battled on. Small numbers meant we adapted our programme to suit. We decided to look at the Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky and how he used circles in his artwork. Then we used his methods to create our own masterpieces. We included the Outram sunsets as our backdrop.
We have also been enjoying Kelly Sports every second Monday. This term they have focused on gymnastics and trying to keep our balance while performing some routines.
On Fridays we spend some time with our buddy class Room 4. During this time we will often sing, read or play with each other. Now the weather is starting to get a little warmer we can get outside and enjoy some fresh air together.
Every Monday we are VERY lucky to spend some time with Mrs B in the Allen Centre. This week we are making puppets and will be performing a show for the Junior School. The time goes soooo fast and we love every minute of it. Mrs B always makes her learning engaging and fun and we can't wait for next Monday.
Mr Mitchell loves his music... and we have been playing ukuleles and marimbas this term. We have found some pretty cool places to make music.
We are learning We Will Rock You on the marimbas along with a song called Ruamoko (God of earthquakes) We are getting the hang of it and it's sounding great!
