What's been happening in Room 2?

Lynda Bayne —

What a busy week we have had to the new term. We have welcomed four new children to our classroom and next week we have two more new pupils starting in Room 2.

Last Wednesday, we looked briefly at why we had had a day off on the Tuesday. We learnt a little about Anzac Day and finished off by baking some Anzac biscuits.

On Friday we celebrated Autumn by going for an Autumn walk. We learnt about seeds, seed pods and seed dispersal. We came home with our bags full of natures goodies. We finished our day off with some Autumn artwork.

In Maths, we are learning about capacity. We each pulled a number out of the container and then counted that many bugs. Our challenge was to make a cylinder that held the bugs. We did so well. We finished by putting the cylinders in order of their capacity.

This week we will be moving onto our 'flight' unit, so lots more fun coming up.
