On Friday 15th September we will hold our annual pōwhiri to welcome our new entrant children that have joined us since Term 2 2023, and those who are yet to join us in Term 1 2024. We will also be welcoming new students who have enrolled at Outram School over 2023 and our new staff - Mr Mitchell and Miss McGregor.

Our Kapa Haka group have been hard at work learning our school haka and the waiata that they will perform to welcome our Manuhiri (visitors), thanks to Mrs Jackson, Mrs Buschl and Mr Mitchell.

The pōwhiri will begin at 12.15pm and is held outside on the courts (weather permitting). Those to be welcomed (manuhiri) have received an invitation detailing the pōwhiri process.

It is customary to share kai after the pōwhiri, so children will sit on the courts as a school (picnic style) to eat their lunch. We will BBQ a sausage for those children who would like one (no cost). Please send your child with lunch as usual but maybe a little less if they are going to enjoy a sausage in bread.
