Dictionaries
Thank you to the Rotary Club who have provided our Year 4 students with their very own dictionary. Neville Goodsir came along to school to make the presentation. Outram School is grateful for the support from Rotary.
The winning House from last week's Triathlon was Pukeko (Blue). Their trophy cabinet in the hall has some 'bling' in it now.
This week we have Pip visiting with the Life Education Truck. Classes in Year 4 to 8 are focusing on Digital Citizenship and the junior classes, Year 1 to 3, are learning about food and nutrition.
Senior Literacy Night
Thursday 21st March - 7pm - Room 7
On Thursday 21st March we invite parents and caregivers who have children in Rooms 5, 6, 7 or 8 to come along to hear from teachers about our senior literacy programmes. Teachers will outline and give examples of what your child learns in literacy and how we teach literacy at Outram School.
If you attended our iDeaL evening last year, this is an expansion of the information that was discussed, so will include new information.
After School Care
Recently we have had an issue with MASH, the providers of after school care. This week we have mutually agreed to terminate our contract with them.
I am working with a new company who are willing to run after school care on a trial basis. We are hoping to get the documentation sorted over the coming days. We are hoping this will start from Monday 18th March.
In the meantime, the school will run after school care next week for those families who are regular uses of this service and have existing bookings with MASH.
I will let you know asap details on costs, how to make bookings, etc with the new provider once everything is finalised between them, the Board and the Ministry of Education.
