Sharyn Whitlow —

Celebrating hard work that leads to success is important.

Kia ora koutou,

Celebrating hard work that leads to success is important. It not only recognizes the efforts put in by our tamariki and rangatahi but also motivates them to strive for even greater achievements.

We are proud to announce the recent outstanding accomplishments of our Year 11 students, Keisha McDonald-Selwyn and Samantha-Rose McKenzie. They have been invited to participate in the cheerleading Summits to be held in Florida in 2024. This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to their dedication, skills, and talent in the field of cheerleading. I encourage you to watch the interview accompanying this article.

Another student who deserves recognition is Katie Readings, who has been named as the Southern Stablehand of the Year for 2022-2023. This prestigious award showcases her excellence in equestrianism and her commitment to the role of a stablehand. We congratulate Katie on this excellent achievement and wish her all the best in the upcoming National awards.

Our support and best wishes go out to our equestrian and netball teams as they compete in the SISS tournaments next week. We wish them the best of luck and know they will make us proud.

Last but not least, we would like to extend our best wishes to all the Year 11-13 students as they gear up for the NCEA Derived Grade Week. This is an important week that allows students to showcase their abilities and knowledge in their respective subjects. Remember to stay focused, stay organised, and give it your best.

Let us celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students as they continue to reach new heights both in and out of Oxford Area School. With their dedication and our support, we are confident that they will succeed not only in these endeavors but also in their future endeavors.

Noho ora mai nā, take care,

Sharyn Whitlow
