DIGITAL OXPO 2020 - Term One in Fusion: ME, MYSELF, AND I.

Mr Thompson —

Welcome to the first OXPO for 2020. This year sees a very different style of OXPO. Students completed work in Term One but, due to COVID-19 Lockdown, our OXPO became digital.

All Years 9 and 10 students in Term 1 completed learning centred on "Me, Myself and I". This was based around where you came from and what makes up all the parts of you. To do this students completed four major activities over the term.

The 4 Activities were:

  • Family Tree
  • Family Crest
  • Creative Writing on a Family member
  • MySpace (A space designed and created by students to scale)

The Technology learning that occurred in Term 1 was based on the Technological Process and Designing through building the 'Family Crest' and 'MySpace'. In each case, students chose the shape, materials, and structure of both of these pieces. The end goal being the built model where possible of their 'MySpace' or 'Family Crest'.

Social Science learning in this Unit focused on researching and understanding different cultures and learning about family histories and origins. This was to help students get an understanding of place and themselves and the parts of history that have shaped their families.

This year Term One success is shown through a digital OXPO.
Term Two will also be accessed digitally and available in the first few weeks of Term Three.

We plan to return to OXPO at school where students will demonstrate their learning from Term Three at the end of the term.
