PTA - Treasurer position

PTA —

An exciting opportunity has opened up for anyone who is interested in taking on the role of the Treasurer for the PTA. It is ideal for someone interested in bookkeeping or accounting and is a good chance to further your skills in this area. Experience is not essential and full support and training from the current Treasurer will be given.

On top of any committee fundraising this position requires less than 40 hours per year (approx. - 1.5 hours every month to maintain records prior to monthly meetings, 1.5-2 hours to attend the monthly meeting and 2-3 hours a year for end of financial year records).

Come and be part of a small committee and take the opportunity to give back to the school community and make some new friends along the way.

As well as attending monthly PTA meetings and helping with fundraising activities where possible, the Treasurer’s duties include:

  • Ensure all money is received and banked and pay invoices on time

  • Monitor cash flow

  • Record all bank transactions in an Excel Cash Book

  • Maintain accurate records of money spent and received

  • Report on financial position for monthly meeting

  • Prepare financial statements for end of year review

  • Report on financial position and prepare Budget for AGM
