Week 7, Term 4

Mike Hart —

Rau Whetū - Shine Together

Kia ora koutou,

We have officially moved out of the Administration block as preparations are being made to clear the site to rebuild our new administration, library, canteen, sciences spaces, and food technologies. We would like to invite you to the Community Presentation of our rebuild on Monday 5th December at 6.30 pm. This will be held in Aotahi's Puaka (the yellow room).

This week in the assembly I talked to our students about the power of a smile, given this term's focus is kia manahau - being positive. When I think about positivity I think about smiling. When I think about smiling I think about happiness because let’s face it, when we’re smiling we are normally having a pretty good time! It is a real treat to come to our work every day and be overwhelmed by the smiling faces we get to see. It is especially important at this time of the year.

As I mentioned in our last newsletter there are a number of key dates coming up. Please mark in your calendars our formal prizegiving dates held in the GP Hall:

  • Year 7-10 Prizegiving 1.00 pm 13th December
  • Year 1-6 Prizegiving 9.30 am 13th December

These events are a great way to end the year and celebrate our students shining together.

Other calendar dates, including the 2023 dates (which are in the process of being loaded) can be found at:

Oxford Area School Calendar

Finally while we start to think of 2023 and reflect on the year we would like to gather some feedback on our school newsletter.

Please take time to complete this quick two question survey to ensure we keep this publication relevant.
