Pink Shirt Day 2023
Pink Shirt Day is coming up on Friday along with the Bake Sale!
This term our value is Kia Haepapa, or be responsible, and with Pink Shirt Day coming up, it would be amazing to see everyone at Oxford focusing on taking responsibility for their actions, and contributing to the school community in a positive and caring way. Pink Shirt Day is an annual anti bullying campaign, and it is coming up very soon, celebrated on this Friday the 19th of May. As a school each year we make efforts to show our support for the Mental Health Foundation which promotes working together to spread kindness and celebrate diversity. We’d love to see you all come in one or more pink items this Friday. And please don’t forget to bring along a gold coin donation for the New Zealand Mental Health Foundation if you choose to wear pink.
Home baking will also be available for purchase during lunchtime from in front of Puaka. Students should bring along some gold coins if they wish to purchase some baking. For younger students we suggest they bring their money in a named envelope which should be handed to their homeroom teacher. All proceeds will go towards our total donation to the Mental Health Foundation.
Remember, like always, this is not a non-uniform day so please remember that you can only wear non school uniform items if they are pink. Wearing pink and supporting such a great cause is another way to show this term's value of responsibility here at school. Pink Shirt Day is all about standing up against bullying, and even if you can’t come in pink, the day is a reminder for all to be kind.
