SADD POSTER COMPETITION

Nikayla Beer and Bella Eginton-Abbott —

Posters due Monday for this exciting poster competition- open to anyone!

If you wish to participate, you need to make a poster to raise awareness about the organisation SADD (Students Against Dangerous Driving). Their collective goals are to reduce harm on our roads and improve wellbeing outcomes for our rangatahi; “preventing loss on New Zealand roads”; making our roads safe. Road trauma does not just affect drivers, it also includes pedestrians, cyclists, scooter riders, and other road user activities. The most common crash factors are distractions, alcohol and speed.

Here are some example categories you can base your poster on (you can come up with your own but make sure it is situated around driving and our roads!):

  • Being a responsible driver (looking out for others, no phones while driving, no drinking while driving)

  • Driving safely, not dangerously

  • Following the road rules

  • The SADD organisation

There will be an awesome prize for the best poster in each age group: 1-3, 4-6, 7-13, judged on creativity and how well you displayed your chosen road safety category. The winners and other outstanding entries will also get their poster copied and printed out around the school to further raise awareness and display how amazing they are!

Criteria

  • A4 paper or card

  • How well you displayed and raised awareness for your chosen category

  • Can be as colourful as you like!

  • Make sure your name and what year you’re in are on the back

Hand your finished posters into the Office Reception by Monday Week 9 and winners will be announced on SADD Day Wednesday the 13th of September, Week 9.

So get creative and help raise awareness to make our roads safe!
