10th - 14th September

Next week we welcome Dr Mitch Schulte and Dr Jen Blank from NASA to Oxford Area School. Mitch and Jen, along with strong support from the New Zealand Astronomical Society, are moving in for the week to provide a jammed pack week of all things Mars. 

There will be many activities on all week including our students will plan and carry out Mars Missions. Our Year 7-10 students will spend the week taking workshops operated by these experts, learning geology, biology, engineering and mapping skills. For our Year 5/6 students it will be all go for the first two days and then they will begin their preparation for their annual camp in Hanmer. Our Year 1-4 students will experience Mars Explore and rocket launching amongst other science based activities.

On the evening of the 12th September from 7pm in Puaka our Mars InDepth night course will be hosting both Mitch and Jen to speak (two NASA Scientists in Oxford!) You are all most welcome to attend this evening.
