Uniform reminders
A few reminders about our uniform requirements.
All Year 1-12 students are expected to be in correct school uniform. Our uniform requirements for all year levels are attached to this article.
Our uniform suppliers are Senior (Year 7-12) Uniform Supplier - Mainland Uniforms, Wairakei Road, Christchurch and Junior (Year 1-6) Uniform Supplier - The Warehouse, Rangiora.
Samples of the senior uniform are held at school for your convenience. Students can try on and get the size before you place your order online. If you know the size of the item, you can order and pay for it online and it will be delivered within a couple of days. Please phone the school to make an appointment.
Please don’t forget to name your clothing - every year we end with a number of lost property bins with copious amounts of unnamed uniform items. These items if unclaimed by the end of the year are washed and used to support other students into the correct uniform.
If you require some support with accessing school uniform for your children, please contact Mrs Lesley Inch for Year 1-6 lesley@oxford.school.nz or Ms Sharyn Whitlow for Year 7-12 sharyn@oxford.school.nz
FAQ:
When can my child in Year 7-12 wear PE uniform?
PE uniform can be worn during PE classes only. The Heath & Physical Education staff allow time for students to get changed within the class period. For all other classes, students must be in correct school uniform, not PE gear.
If your child has a PE class period 1 then they may wear their PE uniform to school. Likewise, if they have PE period 5 they may wear their PE uniform home.
If you child is playing sport of active games during break-times they may change into PE gear within the break-time.
Is the Koru Games hoodie able to be worn at school?
No, the Koru Games hoodie is not part of our school uniform so cannot be worn at school.
Part of my child's school uniform is in the wash so they are wearing a non-regulation item. What do they need to do?
They need to bring a signed, dated note from a parent/caregiver that explains the reason for the non-regulation item to school and give it to their Dean or the Deputy Principal before school. A temporary uniform pass will be issued to cover the item for the day.
