Introducing the Senior Leadership Team

Mike Hart —

Mike Hart (Principal)

I have been at Oxford Area School since Term 4 of 2011. During this time I was initially a Deputy Principal before becoming Principal in July of 2015. I absolutely love my job, this community and the running trails!

My three children, Will, Scarlett and Matilda all attend Oxford Area School and my wife Rebecca teaches in the Year 4-6 team - so it really is a family affair!

Jacqui Paterson (Deputy Principal)

I am a Deputy Principal at Oxford Area school with my main responsibilities in Years 1-6. This is my tenth year at Oxford Area School. It is a privilege to work with students from Year 1-13.

I have three grown-up sons along with three grandchildren. My partner and I train and race greyhounds. I love dogs, photography, travel, shoes and gardening.

Sharyn Varcoe (Deputy Principal)

I have been at Oxford Area School since the beginning of 2019 as Deputy Principal for Years 7-13. I really enjoyed getting to know students and whanau last year and am looking forward to connecting with more of you in 2021.

My two children and two step-children have almost all 'flown the nest' and my partner and I have the pleasure of grandchildren living close by. When I do find some down-time I can usually be found walking or on my bike.

Lesley Inch (Assistant Principal)

I have been teaching at Oxford Area School for 11 years although my involvement with the school began 16 years ago as a parent and PTA member! I enjoy the rural school environment and being able to support students both in school and in the community.

I love to follow my four children, Katelyn, Nick, Claudia and Jacob around their chosen sporting events (lawn bowls, rugby and netball) and I still enjoy playing and coaching for the Oxford netball club.

I am the Staff Trustee on the Board of Trustees and lead the Curriculum in the Year 7/8 area of the school.
