OAS Sports Update

A quick update on sports achievements from the last few weeks.

Well done to our year 5 & 6 swimming champions, who were presented with their certificates in our year 1-6 assembly on Friday 3rd of March.

We also congratulated our Year 7-13 swimming champions at their assembly on Monday 6th, these students were;

On Sunday the 26th of February we had 13 Oxford Area School students compete in the Weet-Bix Tryathlon. They had a great day and all competed really well. Well done;

Ronia Sinclair, Oscar Murphy, Eleanor Smith, Eden Murphy, Amber Sinclair, Madeline Bay, Luarna Christey, Freedom Kennett, Amelia Bay, Jade Brettell, Rydah Kennett, Thomas Bay and Diaz Cameron.

Brooke Newick, Brodie Newick and Amelia Smith all represented Oxford Area School at the 2023 Rakahuri Swimming Championships on Monday the 13th of March at Dudley Pool in Rangiora. Brodie competed in the year 8 Breaststroke event and both Brooke (Year 7) and Amelia (Year 8) competed in the Backstroke event. These students swam really well for our school. Results of the event will be posted once they have been finalised.
