Eyre Cluster Swimming Sports

Tanya Wells —

On Wednesday 12 students from Year 6-8 competed in the Eyre Cluster Swimming Sports at Dudley Pool against students from View Hill, Swannanoa, West Eyreton and Cust schools.

Our swimming team was made up of Brooke Newick, Jamie Stubbs, Ed Wratt, Stephen Saunderson, Oscar Murphy, Jacob Allison, Alister Fan, Millie Smith, Paige Gillespie, Freedom Kennett, Oaklen Frost and Eleanor Smith. They competed against some very fast swimmers and also against the clock. We are proud of the effort that all our students put in, positively encouraging and supporting each other and being wonderful role models.

Our place getters were Oaklen Frost - 1st Year 6 backstroke, Stephen Saunderson Year 7 - 2nd freestyle, Freedom Kennett - 3rd Year 7 backstroke.

As this is a timed event anyone who swam faster than the qualifying time is eligible to swim at the Rakahuri Swimming Sports on Thursday 7th March. We wish Freedom Kennett (backstroke) and Eleanor Smith (freestyle) all the very best at this event next week.

Thank you to Mrs Doocey and our parent helpers and transporters who attended this event.
