Y5/6 Camp to Hanmer

Putara —

Last week Putara headed to Hanmer Springs for their annual camp.

A brief stop for morning tea and a quick game of touch with Amuri Area School was very successful. The students enjoyed making some new friends and enjoyed their facilities.

Onto Hanmer Springs with a hike up Conical Hill. Many thought this was tiring although we did note they loved being able to run parts of the track on the way down. Forest Camp Trust was the overnight venue. Plenty of space for running, games on the adventure playground and spotlight with the torches.
Activity Hanmer provided the activities of bush skills and orienteering where students accepted the challenge to work in cooperative teams. The highlight, to conclude the camp, is our time at the hot pools. The hydro slides and lazy river are where most students spend their time. A beautiful hot sunny 20 degrees day.
In all a very successful camp full of fun, learning experiences.Putara Teachers.
