Years 9-10 UNG class meet people from the United Nations in New York and do their Model UN this week.

Justin Thompson —

In the Years 9-10 United Nations meets Geography of the World class, students have recently engaged in a Model UN and met some experts from the New York, UN buildings.

In the Year 9-10 United Nations meets Geography of the World class, students have recently engaged in a Model UN activity at school and had the opportunity to connect with professionals from New Zealand working at the United Nations in New York through a video call.

This experience allowed students to simulate real-world diplomatic scenarios and gain insights into the workings of the United Nations. By participating in Model UN, students develop critical skills such as public speaking, negotiation, and research. Interacting with professionals from the UN provided them with a first hand look at the importance of international cooperation and diplomacy in addressing global challenges. Such experiences not only enhance students' understanding of global issues but also inspire them to become informed global citizens who are capable of making a positive impact on the world around them.
