BYOD is here

Sharyn Whitlow —

Our Year 9-13 students started the new term with BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) successfully, thanks to the support of their whānau.

With a mix of laptops, Chromebooks or equivalent, tablets and smart phones with bluetooth keyboards, our Year 9-13 cohort started the term bringing their own devices.

Oxford Area School would like to thank our rangatahi and their parents & caregivers for ensuring that they could start the new term able to maximise their learning opportunities.

We have been impressed this week how students have taken on the responsibility to bring their device for every day, make sure their device is fully charged at the beginning each day, or make arrangements to ensure the device will last until 3pm and how they have helped each other to connect to the BYOD network.

Our ICT Manager, Mrs Anthea Anderson has supported our students this week in ensuring that everyone can connect correctly. If your young person still has issues with connectivity they should see her in the first instance.

If you have questions about BYOD or you and your child need further support with accessing a digital device, please get in contact with the Deputy Principal Y7-13, Ms Whitlow in the first instance.
