Tamati was waiting at the port of Gisborne when the Endeavour sailed in on the 8th October 2019 - 250 years to the day Captain Cook first arrived on New Zealand shores.

There was a lot of security and he was the only one they let come through. He met his mother,  Andrea Howland on board the ship. He got a tour and met the crew. What an amazing experience.
