Chat groups

Lesley Inch —

Many students have created chat groups through a variety of platforms to keep in touch with their friends. This is a way they could communicate with each other during the lockdown. We acknowledge these apps and websites were an important part of getting through the isolation time.

It is timely to remind parents and caregivers to discuss this with your children. Conversations about who they chat with, topics they choose to discuss, who they talk about, who can see the information are all important to discuss.

Knowing who they are communicating with and what they are saying to each other will support your children to communicate responsibly and appropriately.
